Description

The New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan region has made great strides in the last two decades, yet both longstanding and new challenges threaten to derail our success. What's more, the advances that have enhanced our prosperity and quality of life have left many residents behind. Regional Plan Association is leading an effort involving a wide range of stakeholders and partners to create a blueprint for the region's growth, sustainability, good governance and economic opportunity for the next 25 years, the fourth such blueprint RPA has created in its 90-year history.

At this year's Assembly, speakers, workshops and interactive presentations will explore RPA's initial research for the Fourth Regional Plan for the New York metropolitan area, and discuss how to create more livable and equitable communities, protect ourselves from future catastrophes and ensure that every resident of the region has an equal chance to grow and prosper.

This year's keynote speakers include:

  • Bill de Blasio, Mayor, City of New York (invited),
  • Christopher S. Murphy, U.S. Senator, Connecticut,
  • and more!

RPA is also participating in the Rebuild by Design competition, an initiative of President Obama’s Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force that is developing innovative planning and design concepts to make our region more resilient to future catastrophes. The winners of the competition will be showcased at this year's RPA Assembly.

Please join us at the Waldorf-Astoria on April 25 to explore these topics and chart the future of the region. Register today!

About the RPA Assembly
Each spring, Regional Plan Association (RPA) brings together more than 1,000 civic and business leaders from around the New York metropolitan area to discuss major issues affecting the prosperity and quality of life in the region. At this year’s RPA Assembly, speakers, workshops and interactive presentations will explore our initial research for the next regional plan and discuss how to create more livable, prosperous and equitable communities, protect ourselves from severe weather, and grapple with our fiscal and governance challenges.
